hello peeps! :) happy friday highday! i wanted to start off the weekend with a good old nutrients discussion :) what are your favorites and why? is there a certain product that you feel stands out for you? something you would not want to leave out / a "must have" ?

really interested to see what the fellow hobby growers and fellow members who are passionate about quality like to add to their "recipes" :)

I use a bit of this and that

Currently using canna calmag and greenhouse seed company powder feeding hybrid bloom and a splash of  seachem seaweed.

So two bottles and a bag of salt , no boosters or flowering products.

I was gonna go over to intense but what im running now is idiot proof and works.

If i change nutes now it'll be to swap to blended, anything else is a step backwards i feel.

If ever i see icl Universol 213R on sale i might be tempted by a bag ...

K.i.s

I'm a hydrocrop man

A bag of powder makes up loads , never needed cal mag and pretty pH stable

Environment and genetics is the major priority

Strictly outdoors ....2 step  Comfrey & Nettle brews .....NOT found anything off the shelf that comes close.

Flower Power for a lazy ass grow , indoors & outdoors and dont seem to leave our ladies lacking ,  its hassle free and well tried & tested .... im more than happy with the results.

Have used Intense Nutrients Dirt range and had good results ,  prefer the comfrey & nettle brews though.

Feeding Hay ......so very under utilized in herb growing .....been using it for quite some time.

100%

A kilo of base nutes lasts me 18 months feeding every other day (mostly) , i used to weigh out dry powder each watering, iirc it was 6g per ten litres but now i just make stock up a litre at a time, 60ml in ten litres is the exact same dilution ratio

From the 80s on ... I was slowly leaning towards a conspiracy theory ( doesn't take much for me ) that the hydroponics industry were keeping powdered nutes away from UK consumers and unavailable

Nutriculture/ growth technology would provide a starter kit with there Nft systems that included some powdered nutes but they were otherwise unavailable for resale

Carriage costs of liquid nutes - manufacturer - wholesalers - retailer + the weight !?!?

Why not powdered ? Also the descreet way they can go into a home unnoticed

Seems a no brainer ??

A Seattle based powdered nutes supplier was around late 80s ..Ecogrow but hardly any shops stocked it

Sensi had a non cost effective powder around a decade ago ..

Around the same time hydrocrop sent me some samples with a try before you buy vibe?

A small packet is penny's ... It's worth a trial at least in my opinion

I tried to make up a stock with the AN Sensi professional dry powder line but it falls out of the solution after a while.

I still use it and it's still giving me great results nevertheless. lol

I scrapped liquid nutes because the transport and disposal was a pain in the ass and also much more expensive.

@ControlLED

seaweed extract is good. Chitin.  Silica is underrated.

beneficial microbes for rooting phase make a HUGE difference... something like 'great white' or rhizotonic by canna

Back in the early 90's I used no nutes at all, no carbon filter or extraction.

Used to watch my plants slowly die till harvest and thought that's just how it goes. lollol

Still got some cracking smoke that would match today's grows maybe not the yield.
