Yeah I just use an 8 pound digital timer that I think came from Morrisons. Some people use smart plugs instead, if you go that route I'd do some research on which brands are reliable.

Yeah the mechanical(Grasslin) type timers are still suitable for LEDs,

now you don’t even require a contactor like you did with the HPS etc 👍

Some of the newer timers are able to reset themselves after a power outage :)

Never had a problem with the cheap mechanical timers yet dude they work fine.

Use everready ones i picked up cheap from B&M and been fine.

And to answer ur question exactly like @DeltaMelter said i cable tied the probe to a bamboo set about an inch from the bottom so if i have to remove it for some reason can easily put it back in exactly the same place.

No mate, it's already got frugivorous bat poo in it , its good to go straight out of the bag, tbf i only really feed seaweed at 1-2ml a litre during the bulk of my veg period because of this.

I use a bit of mycorrhizal on pot up if that counts? Vitax Q4 rootmore is my go to , its as good as any others and cheap, don't think ive got any dry amendments other than myco :g:

Regarding timers my whole setup runs on meross smart plugs, i can turn shit on and off wherever I am (mobile reception dependant obviously) and because they're digital you aren't limited to 15mim segments, and they're a lot sleeker than mechanical timers, the lumii hid ones take up two sockets worth of space innit :nope:

You can get a hygrometer that'll trigger certain sockets depending on parameters too which is a nice touch.

If you go down the route of wireless plugs, you might want to have a look at the models with energy usage, handy if you want a rough idea how much your light is costing you. I use both Meross and Tapo smart plugs and they are both decent and iirc, have a max output of just over 3kw 👍🏼
