Hanging light for optimal coverage

-Roots-

Recommended Posts

A 600W HPS with the bog standard reflector has the bulb attached to one side of the reflector. So the bulb isnt actually in the middle.

When hanging that in a tent, do you put the reflector in the center or the bulb in the center? Would one give better coverage?

I might be overthinking it but i was just rearranging my tent and the bulb in the center seems to make sense to me but ive always set it up with the reflector in the center in the past.

I’d probably be aiming for somewhere in between the two points :)

Reflection is a large part of the available light from HPS fixtures

When I tested with a fone app there was much higher readings from opposite end of the build to what screws into reflector.

This could be due to a bad bulb or reflector but deffo worth playing about a bit using some sort of lighting app
