Hole In The Clouds RGS Diary 24

Hole in the clouds

Visit to the mighty freeze plot. I gave them all bonemeal and sop they’re just coming into flower now.
The giant beanstalk one at this plot I forgot to photograph because I was too busy bending the shit out of it! Bloody thing was getting on for 7 feet and no signs of flowering. Need them to stay low that’s why it’s all mighty freeze here as they stay relatively small. I’ve bent the main stem as far down the trunk as I could and all the side branches bent down and out. It’s blocking the sun to the one behind also so it might have to go if it doesn’t behave. large.IMG_3234.jpeg.649bb67c06bd8b1241952715bed49d3f.jpeg

Look bangin man. Ive never grown Mighty Freeze but been interested by it. As you say i thought it was a relatively short early finishing plant. Yours look like proper lil beasties. I will be keepin an eye out to see how they do for you this year

hope it all goes smoothly

@Erbman T

I’ll always champion mighty freeze mate ticks a lot of boxes for me. It’s a banker strain I can rely on to guarantee a crop. Finishes early, pretty resistant to rot, nice stink to it. This years is what I expect them to do but they do tend to auto as well. Last years from this plot all auto’d. I harvested the first one August 18th and were lovely round dense nugs and that’s despite the plants looking shit because of the weather. I like the high from it its not very conductive to getting stuff done as I find myself day dreaming but it is my type of weed plus I’ve noticed it’s good for anxiety.

Not good news. Leaf septoria has reared its ugly head on my main plot for the second year running now. I thought last year it was just the constant rain causing me problems and blamed overwatering etc but no it looks like I’m in for another season of shite! Great! Ain’t got time to be stripping leaves daily to end with a shit yield i’d rather buy my supply.

I assume that’s what’s killed this leaf off judging by the spots on the surrounding leaves. That’s rapid as well because I was only here a few days ago.

This mighty freeze has a fasciated stem the growing tip looks like a sunflower 😂

large.IMG_3280.jpeg.b65a7dc88ca87a20c17c2643d1fb7f36.jpeg

I’ll destroy the infected leaves and cut the ferns right back for airflow but if it all goes to shit I’m not fighting it on the daily I’ll just fuck it off.

Ive read about a bacteria you can use anyone know anything about it?

Went back the next day to strip every leaf I could find with brown spots on them. It wasn’t that bad 3 plants definitely showing septotia on lots of leaves. The pink runtz auto was bad had to strip practically every leaf. A mighty freeze in the same bed is quite bad and there’s a MAFF which is the first photos above. I’ve taken all infected leaves off the plot plus any others on other plants that were possibles or just any dead leaf material. I’m looking into a way of treating it will have to see what they look like next visit now to gauge how bad it is.
Apart from the septoria they doing alright. I’ve strapped them to canes and this visit I gave them all organic liquid feed and top dressed bonemeal and sop. The bigger ones are 6ft now so I’m wondering how I’m supposed to get up there to service them in flower 😂

I visited the testers and autos plot again to water and scatter some pellets around. Soil dries out quickly here I didn’t realise last year because it wouldn’t stop raining! I didn’t realise this year either I just didn’t expect it and I only noticed recently.

This really is a stunning plot. I had to test it this year but it’s definitely getting filled next year. Huge potential there’s all day sun and excellent airflow. I’ve dug a water source here at the start of the season and I’ve been supplementing them with tomorite liquid fertiliser. It’s a bit of an experiment the bottle only cost me £2 😂

@Hole in the clouds

Fuking septoria, what a ball ache :(

turns a great show into a shit show, I feel your pain.

couple things you could try mate.. trichoderma to treat the soil, helps kill off the fungal infection in the soil... for plants that are not in full flower you could try a bordeaux mix that consists of copper sulphate and hydrated lime and use this as a foliar spray for the leaves.

gutted for ya dude, you got some lovely plants on show too.

another product you could try is DACONIL

again comes in a spray 👍

try not to let it ruin your season, keep pushing brother :yinyang:
