Police officers raided a rural back garden to discover a greenhouse bursting to the seams with cannabis plants.

The detectives acting on a tip-off in the Norfolk village of Gissing found the huge plants which were bulging up against the glass roof and sides of the building.

The three plants had grown so big that they were beginning to come out of the doorway and were in full view of neighbours.

A 50-year-old man was arrested at the scene and questioned before being released on bail. He admitted to cultivating the plants and was given a formal caution.

The greenhouse was found by Norfolk Police on Saturday morning. Officers posted a picture of the building on Twitter using the hashtag #FunnyTomatoes.

The village of Gissing, which is six miles north of Diss, has a population of about 250.
