Have you read the books?  Excellent also...

Not read the books but think it's a turned out to be great sci-fi series so far, and I wasn't expecting that.  :)

I'm watching Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown on Netflix and it is amazing -12 series of Tony talking to people, eating food, seeing sights and so on in less well known less well known areas of countries.

Travel writing, come documentary meets cookery programme.

Very honest and entertaining stuff. Thoroughly bingeable.

For life. Pretty good prison show. Latest episodes incorporate corona. Which I thought was funny as it’s meant to be based loosely on some guys real story a while ago. Keeps it relevant and shows the issues COVID brings though

Late to it but recently started watxching Boardwalk Empire and I'm really enjoying it for a few reasons, mainly the breadth AND depth of the characters involved.

Fargo is great! Season 3 is my favourite, primarily for David Thewlis as VM Varga but Ewan McGregor was also brilliant as well as Nikki Swango - what a woman! Not so impressed with seasons 2 and 4 though.

Watching season 4 of Fargo at the moment, one episode a week. Going to rewatch the first three seasons after. Loved the V.M Varga character in season 3, an all time great villain.

A survival competition called "alone". Really fucking good series, survival experts have to stay out on an island by themselves and last man/woman wins.

Nice one @willowisp @Saddam @Mugwuffin for mentioning The Expanse, hadn't heard of it before, just watched episode 1 (the first episode is completely free on Amazon Prime, no membership required) and I'm hooked already so done the 1 week of Amazon Prime for 99p trial offer (had a free trial over Christmas that I used to watch the footy and re-watch Utopia lol ) to binge watch the rest :) I know I could probably get it free on Kodi or other yarr :pirate: ways but I just can't be bothered fucking about lol

I can recommend the books too, Miller has to be one of my favorite sci fi characters. It reminds me of the Battlestar Galactica remake, but with better writing (especially in the later episodes) ;)

Another +1 for the Expanse, excellent characters and inventive sets and story line.

I wish there was as much decent choice in sci-fi as there is in the crime genre.  The Dune remake on Amazon was utter shite-no director seems to have quite captured the books’ magic. Got my fingers-crossed for Apple’s Asimov Foundation adaptation coming sometime this year. :eat:

Hopefully Apple TV+ will deliver season two of See  before the end of the year, I really enjoyed the first season. :)

Netflix has decided to cancel Dark Crystal - Age of Resistance, stating it's too expensive. :soap:

Now I'm cancelling my Netflix subscription just because they've cancelled Dark Crystal, but I'll tell them it's because Netflix is too expensive. lol

There's literally nothing decent worth paying Netflix for now, i've watched the fucking lot, even all the Star Trek episodes again.  lol

According to imdb, The Hyperion Cantos by Dan Simmons is in development for TV, which could be epic, if done right.

Wasn't really a fan of Dan Simmons' Hyperion books, to be honest.

But if you're into horror his novel Song of Kali is fucking superb, I'd rate it as one of the best horror novels I've ever read. It's not splatter, or torture porn, or gratuitous nastiness (don't get me wrong, if I'm in the mood for it then I like nothing more tha spolatter and gratuitous nastiness. Still hate torture porn, though :nea: that shit may be horror in the sense that it's horriffic, but then again so is a bucket of fish guts and blood. I like my horror to be scary, not just horriffic for the sake of it  ), I just found it to be a really unsettling horror story - without any gratuitous violence or shit like that, there's just an atmosphere of dread that's scary - fear not revulsion if you get what I mean, that's my kind of horror (and it ends like a kick in the gut, which is how I like my horror stories to end).

The Terror is also a good book (nowhere close to Song of Kali but eminently readable :) ). They made a TV series out of it but I dunno if it's any good cos I've not watched it yet. But the book is excellent, really well written.

I've been going back and watching every episode of Only Fools and Horses. Never gets old but at the same time it's crazy to think how old it actually is lol

Found a website that has every episode for free.

Apologies for saying it but I was never a fan of Only Fools and Horses.

:ohmygod:

BURN THE HERETIC :pitchfork:

lol

Del Boy, the supposed 'hero' of the series is a dirty con man cunt. He rips the poorest of the poor off with his 'hookey' merchandise and all he wants is to be a millionaire this time next year (regardless of who he rips off to get there). A perfect metaphor for Thatcher's Britian - dishonest salesman cunt.

E2A sorry, don't take owt I say for the next day or so seriously lol Cider binge
