Countrymen! Greetings: 'The Caesars' is essential viewing for all fans of Roman history. It pre-dates the BBC's 'I, Claudius' by eight years. Sadly, there are only six episodes so the series ends after the assassination of Caligula. Although the series was apparently filmed in black & white, there are high quality colour prints of the production. This is a British series, produced by Granada TV of Manchester. Original airdate: Sunday 22 September, 1968.
