Yeh I pretty much started rap on a heavy diet of MC Eiht, NWA, Dre & Bg Knoccout/dresta, westcoast rap used to be real good, now not so much. Nipsey Hussle aint bad but the days of 90's G-Funk are dead.

Same here, grew up on G-Funk then started listening to more east coast artists. After Pac died and Dre left Deathrow it wasn't the same.

Started listening to Wu-tang and became hooked on their music, other artists like Jedi Mind Tricks, RA The Rugged Man, Ill Bill ect

West coast hip hop aint what it used to be, G-Funk is dead but I'm hoping Dre's detox(if it ever comes out) has more songs like 'Kush' on it coz I will defo buy it to smoke and party to , :woot:.

I didn't really like kush to be honest. We'll see what happens with the Album but im not getting my hopes up. Yeh i listen to a lot of eastcoast now too, mostly old stuff, big pun, biggie, big l, mop, but Jedi mind tricks, army of the pharoahs, vinne paz, diabolic, immortal tech are sick.

All these other rappers lil wayne, wiz khalifa, young jeezy are so shit it hurts. sick mainstream rap died when pun died imo now all the sick stuff is underground.

The reason I like Kush is becoz I think it's a good attempt on Dre's behalf to try and appeal to the younger generation.

I think everything about the song appeals to the youngsters, on the flip side, the production is tight and the reunion with snoop makes it offical for me.

I accidently discovered JMT when I was shopping in HMV one day. Saw the album cover and thought "Hhhmmm" this looks interesting. Took it home and played it, been hooked ever since.

Been to see JMT when they where over here the first time, they tore the house down it was bonkers. Seen Wu-tang twice live, sadly ODB was on the run the first time and the second time he had already passed away :( I agree with you about Pun, he was the last of the greats, he would've made so many classics if he were still alive. Nowaydays Vinnie Paz holds the crown for me though.

Lil Wayne and Jeezy who? :yep: Please don't get me started  I can't tolerate that type of shit, there's no effort put into their music, it's just tapping buttons and singing in auto-tune whilst rapping and you have a "hit single". Hopefully it turns full cycle and comes back to the real...

The album these track's are off is immense, a real summer evening getting stoned hip hop album

As for Dre I've already posted my 2p on previous pages but props to him for his most of his old stuff. Thing's could have been different had a certain rapper not damaged his vocal chords in a car accident a long time ago. I reckon had that not happened DOC and Dre would have dominated hip hop for a long while, saying that DOC ghost wrote a good proportion of a lot of n.w.a and deathrow tracks so suppose he can say that he's an original. No one can do it better, another classic album

What's Dre now, 75? and still rapping about weed, guns, cars and women :(

I think it's sad. I know people think he's a legend, I just think he's an over rated producer that never wrote a decent bar in his life.

Just my opinion like.

@ redtillidie, gotta love a bit of craig mack

I love both versions of this song

Freaky bro,i've been blasting the album today especially this track which is definately my favourite.

As soon as the beat kicks in on the album, you just can't help getting your head bopping to it when you're driving lol

yeah mate freaky, I was driving with it on as well lol Definitely a banger

Awesome album though, I love it that most beats were so chilled out back then but not tiring if that makes sense. You can happily smoke to it without passing out, most of the time lol

I know mate,That's why i only really listen to the older stuff as the beat was simple and pure bass(me loves bass ;))and the style of rappers like de la soul, mobb deep, craig mack, biggie.I like a little of the newer stuff but not much.
