Firefox Search Addon For Uk420

Nah - just restart Firefox is all.

You just have to copy the UK420.xml file to the C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins directory, restart FF and then off you go.

¿Have you clicked on the Search Bar icon at the left of the bar which will reveal the drop-down menu giving you the choice of which search engine to use? The UK420 has a little picture of a weed leaf on it instead of the Google 'G' logo.

Only just seen this today :spliff: dunno how that happened.

Been after a decent engine for a while now and that just fits the bill nicely. Been looking for lot#5 posts and cant get results from the engine built in here.

Nice one Scribble ;)

Started with 2.something.earlier, and have used it throughout all upgrades - now on 2.0.0.9, and using it under Win and Linux systems.

If it isnt there, try right clicking on your firefox toolbar and click customize, brings up a box of things you can drag onto your toolbar, search function being one of them.

It took a while for me to find but its all up and running fine.

  • 3 weeks later...

I don't really 'do' Macs, but from what I can gather, if you copy the UK420.xml file here:

On Mac:

/Mozilla/searchplugins/

On Mac OS X:

/Applications/Mozilla.app/Contents/MacOS/Search\

Plugins/

It should work OK. :smug:

is there a mac version available?

¿Did you have any luck installing it on your Mac then, dreadman?

Curious minds would like to know. :yahoo:

It would appear that the file has been deleted........

The original one I uploaded to a file-dump service has been deleted, but it's been uploaded to UK420 here.

I finally just got around to it and it works fine for me, Ta scribble :spliff:

No worries, EO. :ninja: ¿Handy, ain't it? :blub:
